Your work is what inspired me to learn 3D. Was this made in Maya? Usually high quality works like this come from maya from what ive noticed.

Thank you! To be able to use 3D is very powerful in this day and age, we are lucky to be in this part of time it is available. You really should learn it...
I use Blender, I would suggest you to start there, in some years it will be the leader of all 3D, their progress is unprecedented and the tutorials and friendly community is unmatched.
